Quarterback Julian Sign committed to Alabama on Wednesday.
Sain, number 34 overall in the 2024 ESPN 300 Championship and second best double-threat quarterback in the Junior category, attends Carlsbad High School (California).
“Alabama is the standard for college football,” Sain told ESPN. “They’ll train you hard. You’ll be disciplined there. And that’s something I’m looking for. And I want to be in a system where it will translate to the NFL. Hard and I want the best part of me.
“It looks a lot like what press [Young] he did. It’s an NFL offense and they’re going to make a lot of drop changes. You’ll be in control and that’s something I think I thrive on. I want to be a part of that. “
He picked Crimson Tide over Georgia and LSU.
Sain became the fourth member of the Alabama 2024 class, the second highest member of his class (corner quarterback Jaylen Mbakoy, No. 4 overall) and the first quarterback in the class.
For 2023, coach Nick Saban has secured commitments from ESPN 300 quarterbacks Eli Holstein (No. 22) and Dylan Lonergan (No. 26), in one category for the first time since 2019.
Sayne made an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa on October 22 for Alabama’s 30-6 win over Mississippi State.
“I talked a lot with the coach [Bill] said O’Brien, Saban’s coach there. “It gave me a great feeling, just kind of what they were saying about how this is the place to play quarterback.”
In 10 games for Carlsbad High School, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Sain completed 69% of his passes, accumulating a total of 2,436 yards with 25 total touchdowns.
He shot for 2,302 yards with 23 touchdowns and was only intercepted three times.
“I would say I’m a really accurate midfielder,” he said. “I have a lot of football experience. Brother [Aidan]He is the initiator of Penn and I learn a lot from him. I started as a sophomore. Football IQ is very high and very accurate. I can also do plays while jogging.”
